Sugar & Swirl Bakery was built from a love of baking, but it grew into something much deeper.

I have been baking for more than 25 years, and over that time, the kitchen has always been a place of comfort, creativity, and connection for me. When I moved to the Valley two years ago, I never imagined just how much my life was about to change.

At the end of 2024, I lost both of my parents. The grief was overwhelming, and there were days when it felt far too heavy to carry. I needed somewhere to place all of that love, sadness, and emotion, so I poured it into something I had always known — baking.

In March 2025, I opened the little bakery cottage on my property, and Sugar & Swirl became so much more than a business. It gave me something to wake up for, something to create, and a sense of purpose during one of the hardest seasons of my life. What began as a way to work through my grief slowly became a place filled with joy, connection, friendship, and community.

Today, every cake, cupcake, cinnamon bun, and sweet treat that leaves our cottage is made with genuine care. I am incredibly grateful for what this bakery has brought into my life, but even more grateful for what it allows me to share with others.

One thing that has always been important to me is keeping our pricing affordable. I truly believe that celebrating a birthday, bringing home a treat for your family, or simply enjoying something sweet should not feel out of reach. Sugar & Swirl is about creating beautiful, homemade treats that everyday families can enjoy.

This little bakery was born during a season of loss, but it has become a story of hope, healing, and new beginnings. Every person who walks through our doors, places an order, shares a post, or recommends us to a friend has become part of that story.
